X & Reddit for Windows

Your mentions and replies. Not the whole feed.

Opening X or Reddit "just to check one reply" rarely takes one minute. TopDock shows your X mentions and your Reddit inbox in a slim bar on your Windows desktop, so you can answer the people talking to you and skip the scroll.

The problem with checking social apps

The useful part of X and Reddit, for most people with work to do, is small: someone mentioned you, replied to your post or sent you a message. Everything else is a feed that's designed to keep you there. A desktop notification doesn't help much either, because clicking it drops you right back into the feed.

TopDock gives each platform a tile with a badge for what's new. The drop-down panel shows only the things that involve you, and closes with Esc.

X on your desktop

X charges developers for every read of its API, so TopDock is careful: it only asks for mentions newer than the last one it saw, loads a few at a time, and lets you turn activity checks off entirely.

Reddit, without the front page

Replies, mentions and messages from your Reddit inbox.

Read what people wrote back, answer it, and mark it read, which syncs to Reddit too. Writing a new post? TopDock checks the subreddit's rules and offers the right flair before you submit.

  • Comment replies, mentions and private messages
  • Pin one comment chain as its own tile
  • No votes, follows or posts made for you

LinkedIn posts, too

There's also a LinkedIn tile for writing posts with LinkedIn's official sign-in. Choose who can see it, write up to 3,000 characters and post with Ctrl+Enter. It has no badge, because LinkedIn doesn't let apps read messages or notifications.

Nothing posted behind your back

TopDock doesn't schedule posts, auto-reply, auto-like or follow anyone. You write every word, and nothing leaves your PC until you press Send. Sign-ins use each platform's own login page, and the tokens stay in Windows Credential Manager. Read the details in our privacy policy.

Pin the conversation you're waiting on

Waiting for one particular reply? Pin an X conversation or a Reddit comment chain as its own tile. Its badge counts only new messages in that thread, so you can stop refreshing.

Part of one bar

X and Reddit sit next to your Gmail and Outlook tiles and a todo list. Press T on a mention or a Reddit reply and it becomes a todo that links back to it, for the ones you can't answer right now.

Questions

Can TopDock post to X or Reddit automatically?

No. TopDock has no scheduling or automated posting. Every reply and post is written by you and goes out only when you press Send.

Does X cost anything to use in TopDock?

X charges developers for reading its API. TopDock keeps those reads small: it only fetches what's new, and you choose how often it checks mentions and activity, or turn activity off.

What does the Reddit tile show?

Replies to your posts and comments, mentions and private messages from your Reddit inbox. You can answer them, mark them read, or write a new post with the right flair.

Answer the people, skip the feed.
